GUS
While Gus isn't exactly a Malamute we did use him for pulling before we found our first big fluffy baby (Chantry). Gus, as you can see, is a German Shepherd. GSD's , as they are often called, are actually the main breed used for ski-joring. Dad got Gus as a 5 month old puppy back in 2004. In the intervening years he has had a variety of jobs including, pet, hiking partner, chicken herder, guard dog, fishing pal, as well as for pulling everything from a homemade sled down a little used country road, to little kids in a plastic toy sled, to hauling water one summer a half mile up hill for our garden. Gus is a big boy weighing in at around 105 lbs and his coloring is Black and Red.
This is one of the first pics we have of the galloping galoot.
"Take it! Fill it!"
This is Gus' absolute favorite trick. He actually carried it off somewhere and we couldn't find it for months
We still can't figure out his fascination with
eating what Chris was picking........ Habanero Peppers!!!!!!
Bathtime!
The first, I guess I'd better be polite, uuumm....dogsled
When you are desperate, you'll take anything and I mean anything.
That first harness was a homemade affair given to us by a friend and it left much to be desired. When we got the first Adanac harness we were SO happy!
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
WANNA PLAY!?!? WANNA PLAY!?!?
The little fella there visited for a few days, he belongs to my older Brother.
It's a dog's life.
