In December I started my first job working with dogs, other than my own that is, down near Yellowstone Park in my home state of Montana. The days are long and the work is hard but I love just about every minute of it! The company I work for is a small, family owned business which divides its time between Montana in winter and Alaska in summer. Giving guests tours via sled dogs is exciting and full of adventure! Officially I am a guide which actually means that I not only have guests on my sled and teach them how to drive a dog sled but I also scoop poop and feed and water. Running a ten-dog team, some of which have been in the Iditarod, has been a new experience but one that I have enjoyed.
